Blackpool Pleasure Beach at Night

The Illuminations are simply a bonus to the Golden Mile, which is brightly lit at night throughout the Summer Season.

What used to be Mr Bee's is now simply Mr B's!

Mr Bee's Amusements on the Golden Mile Mr Bee's has a good selection of pinballs inside!
You can see life in the Sea Life... (or if the tide's out you can catch a fair glimpse of life on the beach at night... People should be more careful...) Opposite the slade (the slipway to the beach used by the Lifeboat), the Sealife centre and Barry Noble's Funland (see also below left) light up the Promenade with reflections during a rainy night.

Both the Illuminations and the Golden Mile are seen at their best after a shower of rain as the reflected colours mingle and blur to create patterns of light across the ground.

Good Lord... I nearly came over all poetical there...!

Barry Noble's Funland Grab City - so good they named it twice? Grab City has a huge video screen on the front.

The Golden Nugget to its left is one of the few bits of the old Golden Mile remaining.

An oasis in the centre of the Golden Mile!

Meanwhile, Louis Tussaud's waxworks are missing a... (Get those cogs turning - you'll get it eventually!)

Louis Tussaud was a relative of the famous Madame Tussaud.

The Oasis, complete with glass external lift and Louis Tussaud's Waxworks.

Silcock's Fun Palace Left: Silcock's Amusements and right: the silhouette of a horse landau in front of the last remaining Golden Mile arcade building with its 1930s frontage still intact. A Fairyland Grotto and ride disappeared when part of the building was demolished in order to widen New Bonney Street seen far right leading off the Promenade. One of the older Golden Mile buildings with 1930s cream tiles.
