| Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the early 1980s |

In 1981 I was freelancing to various magazines and
Blackpool always seemed to find something for me to photograph. A red filter for the black and
white photos had a spectacular effect on the sky!
The photo of the Revolution was published first by Club Canon - a magazine published by the
club for users of Canon cameras - and then by the magazine "Photography". I mirrored the image
so that the sign "Big Dipper" could still be read even though it was on the other side facing away from me. |

More portable rides move onto the southern half of the
Pleasure Beach, whilst a large swinging boat, the Tidal Wave suspends riders in mid
air for a moment as the boat swings down before them.
The Fun House was a favourite of many visitors - not least because it
offered hours of fun for a single admission price. |

The Monorail snakes out of the station above Watson Road
and makes its way through the southern half of the park..
Right: when the Revolution was built the radio controlled boats were moved down close to the loop. |
