South Promenade from the Pleasure Beach to Squires Gate, where the trams loop around to head back north has been redeveloped and laid out.

A collection of modern sculpture is displayed, including this clever piece, a series of slots in a board that when seen with the light behind it is almost photographic.
A rather strange subject maybe... Yell for help if you can't work it out! |

Left: this piece has aroused a certain controversy in the town. Have a look through the window for the complete experience - I'm not spoiling it here!
Right: the old Solarium used to be filled with tropical plants, tables and a cafeteria. Now it is boarded up and all the windows at the top are smashed. It is in desperate need of a decision whether to renovate or get rid of! |

The Big One rollercoaster on the Pleasure Beach dominates the skyline in this part of Blackpool. |

The large hotels in this area are popular with older visitors who prefer the quiet.
Right: parking on the Promenade is now at a Pay and Display cost! Hoteliers hate this type of vehicle with a vengeance! |
